Gathemangal:
This festival is celebrated generally in
the month of June/July. This year it fell on August 12 due additional month (Purushottam Mass) according to lunar calendar. People worship and offer sacrifices to demons, serpents
and other supernatural and natural elements like wind, water and fire since
long time back to get rid of evil powers and the legendary demons named
Ghantakarna.
